Televiziunea Română (TVR) was established in 1956 in Bucharest and had its first broadcast on 31 December from a little building (a deserted cinema studio) on Molière Street no. 2. State-owned TVR moved in 1969 to a new building (the picture on the stamp), the specially built television center on Dorobanților Avenue. It was designed by well-known architect Tiberiu Ricci.
